    Technologies / Azure

    Azure engineered for Microsoft-centric organisations.

App Service, Functions, AKS, Cosmos, Service Bus, and Azure AD — engineered for organisations already invested in the Microsoft ecosystem.

For organisations standardised on Microsoft — M365, Entra ID, and existing enterprise agreements — Azure is often the right cloud on both technical and commercial grounds. We work in Azure the way it rewards: aligned to Entra ID for identity, aligned to M365 for tooling, and aligned to the commercial terms your organisation already has.

    The problem we hear

We use Azure where it earns its place. These are the situations we see most often.

Azure is used as an EC2 clone

VMs running everything because the team hasn't invested in PaaS or serverless — a much more expensive way to run Azure.

Entra ID isn't the identity backbone

Every application has its own login story, ignoring the SSO investment the organisation already made.

    Governance is chaotic

Subscriptions proliferating, tagging inconsistent, and no clear view of who owns what.

    How we approach it

    01

    Understand

We start with your business problem — the process, the users, the constraints — before naming any technology, including this one.

    02

    Architect

A clear architecture decision record: where this technology fits, where it doesn't, and what it integrates with.

    03

    Build

Small, demonstrable increments on real data. Real users, real feedback, real outcomes — not a proof of concept nobody uses.

    04

    Measure and hand over

Operational metrics, documentation, and a runbook your internal team can operate. We're not a lock-in vendor.

    What good looks like

PaaS and serverless-first architecture where it fits, reducing cost and operational load.

Entra ID as the identity backbone, with SSO and role-based access across the estate.

Consistent governance — subscription structure, tagging, and cost allocation your finance team can consume.

Bicep- or Terraform-managed environments, reproducible and audit-friendly.

    How we use Azure

    App Service & Functions

The default managed compute for most Azure web workloads — auto-scaled, integrated, and cost-efficient.

    AKS

Kubernetes on Azure where the workload genuinely warrants it, with sensible defaults for networking and identity.

    Cosmos & SQL

Cosmos DB for globally distributed and document workloads; Azure SQL for relational workloads with a Microsoft footprint.

    Service Bus & Event Grid

Reliable messaging and event-driven architecture for platform integration.

    Entra ID & Identity

Application registrations, SSO, conditional access, and B2C for external users — done properly.

    Governance & FinOps

Landing zones, tagging strategy, cost management, and policy — the boring investments that pay back monthly.

    Anonymised engagements

    M365-aligned portal

A UK organisation wanted a customer portal aligned to its Entra ID and M365 tooling. We built on App Service with Entra External ID (B2C), integrated to SharePoint and Teams for internal collaboration — meeting both the technical and procurement bar without adding a new identity silo.

    AKS rationalisation

An organisation had adopted AKS cluster-per-team, with a corresponding cost line. We consolidated to shared clusters with proper namespace isolation, network policy, and cost allocation — halving the compute spend without changing application behaviour.

Vignettes are anonymised composites drawn from engagements and product work. No client names, logos, or performance figures are implied.

    Frequently asked questions

    Azure or AWS?

Azure where the organisation is Microsoft-standardised (M365, Entra, existing EA). AWS where breadth of services and mature serverless matter most. We work in both.

    Bicep or Terraform?

Bicep for Azure-only estates favouring native tooling; Terraform where multi-cloud or existing Terraform expertise applies.

Do you work with M365 as well?

Adjacent to our Azure work, yes — SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform integration. We're not a licensing partner.

    UK data residency?

UK South by default; UK West for DR. Both are London-region and suitable for most regulated workloads.

    Do you handle DevOps hand-over?

Yes — Azure DevOps or GitHub, pipelines, environments, and documentation handed to your team.

    Thinking about Azure?

Whether it's a new build, a migration, or an Azure estate that has grown faster than the governance around it — let's have a look.
